REGULAR MEETING
The Fairbank City Council met in Regular Session on Monday, January 26, 2004. Mayor Welsh called the meeting to order at 5:37 P.M. Members present: Plaster, Frost and Woods. Absent: Suckow and Kayser. Also present: Clarence Leyh, Police Chief; Dave Ryan, Assistant Public Works Director; Steve Welter, Fire Chief; Ted Vorwald, Utility Superintendent and Marlene Strempke, City Clerk.
Motion by Frost, second by Plaster to approve agenda as presented. Roll call vote – Ayes: Frost, Plaster and Woods. Nays: None.
Brenda Dryer of BCEDC gave an update on what they were doing and asked for a $1500.00 contribution from the city for FY 2004-05.
Councilperson Kayser arrived at 5:40 P.M.
Councilperson Suckow arrived at 5:41P.M.
Motion by Kayser, second by Woods to approve RESOLUTION 2004-03- RELEASE OF REAL ESTATE MORTGAGE. Roll call vote - Ayes: Kayser, Woods, Frost and Plaster. Nays: Suckow.
Motion By Suckow, second by Frost to have Attorney Peters pursue the option of the sale of the Lisa Crow property. Roll call vote – Ayes: Suckow, Frost, Plaster, Kayser and Woods. Nays: None.
Motion by Woods, second by Plaster to approve the Mayor signing the contract for services between INRCOG and the City of Fairbank and the Planning Grant Agreement between HLSEM and the City of Fairbank. Roll call vote – Ayes: Woods, Plaster, Kayser, Suckow and Frost. Nays: None.
Liquor license renewal for D & J’s was tabled until the next meeting.
Motion by Kayser, second by Frost to approve liquor license application for American Legion. Roll call vote - Ayes: Kayser, Frost, Plaster, Suckow and Woods. Nays: None.
Motion by Kayser, second by Plaster to approve payment request #2 to Fairbank Assisted Living in the amount of $47,066.47. Roll call vote – Ayes: Kayser, Plaster, Frost, Suckow and Woods. Nays: None.
Attorney Peters will be asked to draw up the documents to dedicate the proposed access road to the Knollridge Addition #3 to the city.
Pool construction is progressing on schedule.
Motion by Kayser, second by Suckow to remove garbage charges to a property that has been unoccupied for one year. Roll call vote – Ayes: Kayser, Suckow, Woods, Frost and Plaster. Nays: None.
Motion by Woods, second by Kayser to adjourn at 6:11 P.M. Roll call vote – Ayes: Woods, Suckow, Frost, Plaster and Woods. Nays: None.
A budget work session was held after the council meeting.
